A diverse group of scientists and experts from other fields like animation and education are teaming up to present the human brain in a way it has never been seen before. Using an approach similar to that used in astronomy planetarium shows, the Neurodome project will attempt to show the inner workings of the brain on a large scale.
The group is in the process of creating a planetarium show that will investigate the neurobiological basis underlying the human desire to explore. By approaching neuroscience from this perspective, the Neurodome project makes a distinct connection between this planetarium show and the more common astronomy-focused presentation: the drive to traverse space stems from a desire to explore that is ingrained in our neurobiology.
You can see a trailer for the show below. The goal of the project is to have a show-length version ready by spring 2015. You can keep track of the progress toward that goal, see other videos, and make a financial contribution at Neurodome.org
